LAGS is a group of local genealogists who have varying
interests and degrees of experience in researching their
family histories. The society meets once a month for a brief
business meeting/educational program, and to help members
with their research.
Guests are always welcome.
Meetings are held at the Minocqua
Library/Community Building in the third floor Torpy Room on
the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7pm in
April, May, June, Aug, and Sept; and at 2PM
in Jan, Feb, March, Oct, and Nov. In July,
the annual picnic is held; and in December we have a dinner
meeting at a restaurant.
Membership dues are $15.00 for individuals, families or
organizations, and includes a bi-monthly newsletter. The
membership year extends from April 1 through March 31.
The club has published two Birth, Marriage & Death Indexes.
The first is for for The Times & Minocqua Times 1891-1926. The
second is for the Lakeland Times 1927-1949. Both
reference publications are available at the Minocqua
Public Library.
